The Indian Punjabi comedy film ‘Ikk Kudi’ has officially premiered in Pakistani cinemas, offering audiences a lively mix of humour, emotion, and music, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
The film’s distribution rights are held by Wali Films, and it has been released under the import policy, enabling screenings in multiplexes nationwide.
Shehnaaz Gill, Punjabi cinema’s beloved actress, stars in the lead role and also produces the film, marking her debut as a producer.
This project is her return to Punjabi cinema after nearly four years, and is directed by Amarjeet Singh Saron.
Plotline
The film follows Simar (played by Shehnaaz), a warm-hearted and modern Punjabi woman from a family with a history of failed relationships.
As she prepares for an arranged marriage, Simar begins to doubt her fiancé’s past and embarks on an investigation, which leads to comical situations.
The narrative creatively shifts between the 1950s and 2025, adding both nostalgia and emotional depth.
Known for her memorable appearance on Bigg Boss 13, Shehnaaz brings her signature charm to the film, which explores small-town Punjabi life, character chemistry, and heartfelt drama, all wrapped in a lively musical score.
Producers said the film is crafted to entertain while resonating with family audiences, making it a must-watch this cinematic season.
