Health Management Information System to be launched in 15 Punjab hospitals

Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday ordered that steps should be taken on a war footing for the introduction of Health Management Information System (HMIS) in 15 hospitals of the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Chairing a meeting on the introduction of HMIS in Lahore, the chief minister said that in Lahore the system would be introduced at Jinnah Hospital, Children Hospital, Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital and General Hospital.

Similarly, he said, the system would also be introduced at hospitals in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.

Briefing the CM, Punjab Information Technology Board chairman said that under the system, the entire record of the diagnosis of patient’s disease, tests and his medicines would be uploaded on the centralized system. 

CM Naqvi was further told that the system would also ensure monitoring of the performance of doctors and the paramedical staff.

Apart from that, he was informed, courtesy HMIS, quality treatment facilities would be available to patients.
