Heavy rain which hit the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has impacted the flights operation at the federal capital’s international airport on Thursday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
More than 15 international and domestic flights were impacted facing hours-long delays.
PIA’s Jeddah-bound PK751 flight was facing a delay of two hours while Serene Air’s Jeddah-bound AR-810 flight, which was due to take off at 8:00 am, was delayed by over 12 hours as the plane which was scheduled to return from Jeddah could not return.
Air Sial’s Damam-bount flight PF-746 was facing a delay of over seven hours and will now depart at 3:00 pm.
FlyDubai’s flight coming from Dubai will land at the Islamabad International Airport seven hours beyond scheduled time.
Fly Jinnah’s flight coming from Riyadh is also facing a delay of over six hours while Serene Air’s flight from Jeddah was not allowed to take off due to inclement weather.
PIA’s fligt PK-144 coming from Al Ain was facing a delay of five hours while Air Sial’s flight coming in from Riyadh could not take off after permission was denied. The flight will not touch down at the Islamabad Airport at 2:00 pm today.
PIA’s coming in and going to Karachi PK-300 will land after two hours delay and will then depart for the port city.
