The Misri Shah Police in Lahore have recovered a shopping bag containing Rs350,000 in cash and returned it to its rightful owner after tracing the person who had picked it up, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) City Atif Ameer, the police received a call on 15 from a citizen who reported that a shopping bag containing Rs350,000 had accidentally fallen and gone missing.
Police teams immediately launched an investigation and examined CCTV footage from the area. The footage revealed that a motorcyclist had picked up the bag and fled the scene.
Following the CCTV trail, Station House Officer (SHO) Misri Shah, along with his team, quickly traced the motorcyclist and successfully recovered the cash.
The recovered amount was later handed over to the owner by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mubashir Awan, ensuring that the citizen received his lost savings without delay.
The citizen thanked the Lahore Police for successful efforts in recovering his hard-earned money.
