The Sindh government has decided to dismiss more than 10,000 employees of the School Education Department for duty evasion, declaring them as “ghost employees”, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Ghost employees include naib qasids, watchmen, gardeners, lab attendants, primary school teachers and junior elementary school teachers.
Despite issuing show cause notices to the employees by the School Education Department, they could not explain.
The highest number of ghost employees were found in Hyderabad Division.
The School Education Department declared more than 2000 employees of Hyderabad Division as absconding ghosts.
Thousands of ghost employees were also found in the remaining five divisions.
The divisions include Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad.
All ghost employees will be dismissed from their jobs from August.
