Two arrested for stealing diesel from PSO pipeline in Islamabad

During a joint action by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO), two accused involved in diesel theft from main pipeline were arrested red-handed from Sihala Bhaga in Islamabad on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a FIA spokesperson, both accused were arrested red-handed after uncovering a network involved in illegal diesel theft from the main pipeline of Sihala Depot.

The FIA ​​raided near the jump stop near Sihala Bhaga on a tip-off and arrested the accused, who had established an organized network of oil theft and tampering through the secondary pipeline.

The accused used to transfer the stolen fuel in drums and sell it in the black market.

The illegal network was active for the last six months.

The accused were illegally extracting and selling about 20,000 liters of diesel from the main pipeline every day.

According to the initial estimate of the PSO, the national exchequer has suffered a loss of more than Rs100 million.

A case has been registered against the accused under relevant laws.

The role of other persons involved in this network and any government official will also be determined during the investigation and further investigation is underway.
