FIA summons Hammad, 2 PTI quitters over nasty social media campaign

The FIA Cybercrime Wing, Lahore has opened an inquiry against those persons who have been maligning the state institutions on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Saturday.

The FIA has summoned two Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf quitters Fawad Chaudhry and Musarrat Cheema. It also summoned Hammad Azhar who is still part of the PTI.

The FIA Cybercrime Wing dispatched summon notices to the trio, asking them to appear before it on June 24. It warned of a unilateral action in case they decided not to show up.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Friday registered a case against Hammad Azhar in Sheikhupura, accusing him of causing monetary loss to the national exchequer in the construction of AFCO Steel Mills.

The PTI is facing a crackdown after the violent incidents of May 9.

Many of its frontline leaders including Fawad Ch, Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak, Shireen Mazari, Imran Ismail and scores of others have left the party in the wake of May 9 riots erupted across the country to protest the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
