The student organization, Qaideen Student Federation, has called for a strike over the non-appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
As a result of call for strike, the exams to be held at the university today have been cancelled, while the students have also announced a boycott of classes.
The term of acting VC Professor Dr Zafar Nawaz Jaspal has ended on May 19, 2026, the students' position.
Despite the completion of the three-month term of the acting VC at Quaid-e-Azam University, a new appointment has not yet been made.
Students are of the view that the academic environment at Quaid-e-Azam University is affected and mental distress is increasing due to continuous pressure and problems.
They announced the protests and boycott of classes will continue until their demands are met.
