Police have solved the case of the murders of three Christian sisters in Gujranwala, arresting the husband of one of the victims along with his accomplices, officials said.
According to police, the suspect allegedly staged a plan to take his wife and her two sisters abroad, claiming they would travel to Germany, before killing all three women in Pakistan.
Investigators said the accused, with the help of his nephews, murdered his wife and her two unmarried sisters. The body of one victim, identified as Nazia, was reportedly dumped in Alipur Chatta, while the other two bodies were thrown into a canal in Hafizabad.
Police said the bodies remained unidentified and were buried in an abandoned state before being exhumed and sent for analysis to a forensic laboratory in Gujranwala. Following forensic results, the victims were identified and a formal investigation was launched.
An official, identified as the SSP (Operations) Gujranwala, said that after collecting evidence, police arrested three suspects involved in the case.
During initial interrogation, the main accused reportedly confessed to the crime, claiming he suspected his wife’s character, according to sources. Further investigations are underway.
