The Sindh government has announced public holidays for Eid al-Fitr, declaring March 20 and 21 as official holidays across the province, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all Sindh residents will have public holidays on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, 2026.
All government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils operating under the provincial administration will remain closed during these dates.
However, essential services will continue to function as usual.
The decision about holidays for this year follows the federal government’s holiday schedule, which has already designated March 20 and 21 as public holidays nationwide for Eid al-Fitr.
The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) predicts that Eid‑ul‑Fitr 1447 AH will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2026, based on their astronomical calculations of the Shawwal new moon.
