The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf wickets have started falling one by one as the PTI ticket-holder from PP-148, Lahore has blamed party’s Central Punjab President Dr Yasmeen Rashid and Mian Mehmoodur Rashid for arson attack on the Corps Commander House in the provincial capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The PTI ticket-holder also announced to return the party ticket.
Ibad Farooq’s conversation has gone viral on the social media.
He said that Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Mian Mehmoodur Rashid and other PTI leaders called us and asked us to reach the Liberty Market. When we reached Liberty Market, they asked us to torch Corps Commander House. “What happened, was not good. I’m returning the PTI ticket,” Ibad Farooq said.
Yesterday, senior PTI leader and Member of National Assembly from Karachi Mahmood Baqi Moulvi also announced to part ways with the PTI over “difference of opinion” and said he would also resign from his NA seat.
Yesterday, while holding a press conference, he said: “The reason behind my quitting the party is that its leaders speak against the Army because I cannot go against the Army of my country, whatever happened was wrong. This country cannot run without Army, political parties can be changed, Army cannot be changed.”
He expressed regret over the May 9 violent protests by PTI leaders, workers and supporters and said that the events changed his mind about his political future.
Reportedly, PTI Additional Secretary General Amir Kiyani has also decided to quit the party.
He will hold a presser in this regard shortly.
