Punjab govt gives loans worth Rs61b to 170,000 people in three months

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has created history as in just three months, she gave loans worth Rs61 billion to more than 170,000 people, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

For the first time in Punjab, a record of 57913 new businesses being started in 90 days was set. 

Loans worth Rs23.91 billion were issued to start new businesses.

For the first time, 6753 women took loans worth Rs3.42 billion to run their businesses.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a special meeting on Asan Business Finance and Asan Business Card. 

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered to complete the process of pending applications for Asan Business Finance and Card Loans soon.

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Asan Business Card can now be activated through WhatsApp as well.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has sought a plan for export and manufacturing sector loans.

The Asan Business Finance and Asan Business Card program should not be stopped under any circumstances, Maryam Nawaz said.

The meetin was briefed on Asan Business Finance and Asan Business Card in details. 

MD Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) Sara Umar informed about the progress on Asan Business Scheme.

The meeting was briefed that under Chief Minister Asan Business Finance Scheme 18 billion loans were issued to 3010 people.

A scheme under the Chief Minister Asan Business Card Scheme Loans worth Rs43 billion were issued to 104,000 people.

As many as 74,579 applications were received for Chief Minister Asan Business Finance out of which 2,505 were approved and loans were issued.

Not less than 12,029 applications were received for Chief Minister Asan Business Finance Tartu, out of which 505 were approved and loans were received.

About 1,380,838 applications received for Chief Minister Asan Business Card Scheme, out of which 1,04,133 were approved. 

Moreover, 1,312 people received loans worth Rs3.91 billion for transportation business and 175 people received loans worth Rs3.94 billion for trading and distribution.

Professional services, such as agriculture, dairy, food, beautification, auto, fertilizer, pesticide, and other businesses also tend to get loans.

The largest number of people providing services through Asan Caroba Card, 61996, took loans worth Rs26.13 billion while 24522 people took loans worth Rs10.75 billion for trading and 10699 people took loans worth Rs3.69 billion for agri-small business.
