The University of Sindh campus in Jamshoro descended into chaos after violent clashes erupted between rival student groups, leading to gunfire and injuries, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the police, two students identified as Vikram Kumar and Azhar Shah were seriously injured during the incident and were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for medical treatment.
Witnesses said sticks and bricks were used openly during the confrontation, while firing on the campus created panic among students living in university hostels.
Police officials confirmed that a heavy police contingent was called to the university after the situation worsened.
Security personnel were deployed to restore order and prevent further violence.
Authorities said tensions between the two student groups had been continuing for several days, with repeated minor clashes taking place before the latest incident escalated into violence.
The situation at the campus remained tense as police continued investigations into the clash and attempted to identify those involved in the firing.
