An elderly man was found murdered inside his home in the Misri Shah area of Lahore after unidentified attackers allegedly struck him with a sharp-edged cleaver, police said.
According to investigators, the assailants fled the scene after the attack, leaving the weapon behind.
Police identified the victim as Shaukat, a 60-year-old who worked as a tailor master and lived alone at his residence. Officials said he had no children and that his wife had died several years ago.
Law enforcement authorities collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and shifted the body to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
Police said efforts were underway to trace and arrest those involved in the killing.
