A major fire that erupted at a factory in Karachi’s Landhi Export Processing Zone today was largely brought under control after a lengthy firefighting operation involving more than 10 fire brigade vehicles, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

According to rescue officials, the blaze initially broke out on the second floor of the building and later spread to the third floor, prompting an emergency response from firefighters and rescue teams.

Officials said the fire on the second floor had been extinguished, while flames on the third floor were contained and prevented from spreading further.

According to Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan, the incident occurred in a warehouse storing used clothes inside the industrial zone.

He said the fire had been brought under control, although flames were still visible in some sections of the building.

Rescue 1122 officials confirmed that the blaze had been controlled and that firefighting teams were working to extinguish remaining pockets of fire inside the structure.

Fire officer Yusra said cooling operations would begin shortly, while response teams continued to operate inside the building to fully secure the site.

No casualties were immediately reported, and the cause of the fire was not yet known.
