According to officials, more than 40 police personnel, including one SP, two SDPOs and three SHOs, have been deployed as part of the comprehensive security operation. A heavy contingent of police officers and lady staff has also been assigned in two shifts to maintain close surveillance on the accused.
Police said continuous CCTV monitoring of the lock-up, surrounding areas, and all entrance and exit routes is underway to prevent any untoward incident. In addition, snipers have been deployed on rooftops around the lock-up due to security concerns.
Extra police personnel have been stationed at all entry and exit points around Baghdadi Police Station, while traffic and movement of unauthorized individuals near the court and lock-up have been restricted.
Officials said strict instructions have been issued to ensure that food provided to the accused is thoroughly checked before delivery. Authorities have also ordered that backup generators remain operational at all times to avoid disruptions during possible power outages.
The operation is being supervised by the SP Lyari, who has been entrusted with overseeing the transfer of the accused to and from court. Meanwhile, the SDPO Baghdadi has been assigned command of the overall security arrangements.
Police further stated that SHOs of Baghdadi, Risala, and Garden police stations have been appointed as ground in-charges for the operation. Special quick response teams have also been placed on alert to immediately respond to any emergency situation.
