The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the start of the new Umrah season immediately after the conclusion of Hajj 2026, with international and local pilgrims set to begin preparations for the pilgrimage.
According to the ministry, the new Umrah season will formally commence on May 31, 2026. Authorities said overseas Umrah arrangements would begin from that date as part of efforts to facilitate pilgrims arriving from around the world.
The ministry further announced that local pilgrims residing inside Saudi Arabia will be able to enter Makkah for Umrah starting June 1, 2026, after obtaining official permits through the Nusuk application.
Saudi authorities urged Umrah companies and overseas travel agents to strictly follow the approved operational schedule and comply with all regulations and instructions issued by the ministry to ensure smooth and high-quality services for pilgrims throughout the season.
The ministry emphasized that digital permit systems through the Nusuk app would continue to play a central role in organizing pilgrim movement and managing access to the holy city.
The announcement comes immediately after preparations for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, as Saudi authorities continue expanding digital services and crowd-management systems to improve the overall pilgrimage experience for millions of Muslims visiting the kingdom each year.
