The first appeal challenging the apex court’s decision in the NAB amendments case has landed in the Supreme Court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The appeal was filed by Zubair Ahmad Siddiqui on Tuesday under the Practice and Procedure Law.
The petitioner requested the court to declare the SC decision on the NAB amendment null and void and restore the amendments. He further pleaded that his basic rights were violated by the SC decision though he was not a party to the NAB amendments case.
He said that the Supreme Court pronounced the decision without issuing prior notice.
The petitioner stated that no one’s basic rights were violated by the enactment of the NAB amendments, adding that it was Parliament’s prerogative to legislate and the Supreme Court’s decision had exceeded the jurisdiction of the Parliament.
