The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday annulled the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) decision declaring fuel price adjustment illegal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The apex court referred the matter of the companies against the fuel price adjustment to the Nepra Appellate Tribunal.

“The LHC’s decision to declare fuel price adjustment illegal is not constitutionally and legally enforceable,” the Supreme Court ruled.

“The companies shall file appeals against fuel price adjustment in the Nepra Appellate Tribunal within 15 days,” it directed.

“The Nepra Appellate Tribunal shall fix the appeals for hearing within 10 days,” it ordered.

“The Nepra Appellate Tribunal shall decide the appeals as soon as possible within the statutory period,” it added.

It is to be noted here that a single bench of the LHC had declared the fuel price adjustment illegal.
