Prices of medical devices, diagnostic kits and other medical equipment have registered big increase in the country raising alarm among the patients and their families, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
The price of wheelchair has been increased from Rs 9,000 to Rs 18,000, crunch stick price increased from Rs 700 to Rs 1,600 to Rs 2,500 to Rs 4,000. The price of sugar meters touched Rs 2,000 to 2,500 from Rs 500 to 1,000. Stethoscope price now fixed at Rs 2,000 to 3,000 instead of Rs 500 to 700.
Blood pressure machine price fixed at Rs 4,500 to 6,000 which was earlier ranging from Rs 1,500 to 2,800. Chemistry analyzer price was fixed at Rs 6-7 lakh which was being sold in the market in Rs 2-3 lakh.
LFT and RFT tests rates have jumped to Rs 700-1100 from Rs 300. Thyroid test kits price increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 3000. Fertility test kit price increased from Rs 1200 to Rs 5000.
