The Ministry of Religious Affairs has released a list of 113 certified Umrah companies on its official website to safeguard pilgrims from fraud. The list is valid for the Islamic year 1447 Hijri, a spokesperson of the ministry confirmed.
The spokesperson emphasised that before making any bookings, Umrah pilgrims must verify the company’s credentials through the ministry’s website. Payments should only be made via bank transfer directly to the company’s account, while pilgrims must obtain a copy of the payment receipt and agreement for their records.
The ministry further advised pilgrims to book complete packages — including visa, air tickets, transport, and accommodation — exclusively through authorised Umrah operators to avoid scams.
Authorities said the step aims to ensure transparency and protect thousands of intending pilgrims from falling victim to fraudulent agents.
