Victoria Beckham has opened up about the toughest moments of her career, admitting her fashion label was once “millions in the red” in a new Netflix documentary series set to launch next month.
The 51-year-old former Spice Girl-turned-designer becomes visibly emotional in the trailer, released Wednesday, as she reflects on the financial strain that nearly pushed her to breaking point. Husband David Beckham also confesses that the mounting pressures left him “in a panic.”
The three-part series, which premieres on October 9, promises an unfiltered look inside the Beckham household, blending behind-the-scenes footage with candid interviews from family and close friends, including designer Tom Ford and actress Eva Longoria. Viewers will also see lighter moments where Victoria jokes about herself, admitting she “can’t even make a cheese and ham sandwich” and laughing that she often comes across publicly as a “miserable cow.”
All four Beckham children are featured, with eldest son Brooklyn, 26, seen helping his mother at Paris Fashion Week in September 2024 after a downpour flooded her runway. Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, also appear, including a scene where Cruz is fitted for a suit ahead of one of Victoria’s shows. Youngest daughter Harper, 13, makes an appearance as well.
The series follows the blockbuster success of Beckham, the 2023 Netflix documentary chronicling David Beckham’s football career and marriage, which became a global hit. That earlier project made Victoria’s sharp humour a viral sensation, especially the clip where David teased her about claiming to be “working class” until she admitted she was driven to school in a Rolls-Royce. She later turned the viral moment into merchandise with a tongue-in-cheek T-shirt.
With this new series, Victoria steps into the spotlight herself, showing both the glamour and the grit behind her fashion empire, as well as the resilience that has carried her through public and personal challenges.
