The maiden meeting of the Azad Kashmir Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani, was held in Muzaffarabad, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The cabinet formed a three member committee comprising Ministers Waqar Ahmed Noor, Azhar Sadiq and Umair Naeem to review the Education Package 2026. The meeting was also briefed on the teacher recruitment policy and Ease of Doing Business Act 2026.
Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani said public trust must be restored by making life easier for citizens and directed the cabinet and bureaucracy to work together. Gilani directed the district administration to facilitate citizens and resolve public issues without delay, saying political representatives best represent the people.
The prime minister directed all departments to amend their rules in line with the Third Party Recruitment Law, stressing that recruitment would be based solely on merit, qualification and competence.
He also ordered the establishment of a complaint desk at the Prime Minister’s Office until the complaints portal becomes operational.
Gilani said improving governance required a change in attitude and approach, not merely additional funds.
The prime minister directed officials to work in line with the vision of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, warning that those who did not cooperate could not remain part of his team.
