Federal minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Dr. Muhammad Amjad called on Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and held detailed discussion on the country's political situation, the creation of new provinces, and administrative reforms.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi stated that more provinces are essential for national stability, development, and the resolution of public issues.
He said that the country's population has increased manifold, yet the administrative structure remains outdated.
Mohsin Naqvi said granting provincial status to the federal capital, Islamabad, was need of the hour. Ch Salik said that increasing the number of provinces will ensure equal attention and prompt administrative services for the public.
Dr Amjad said that the plan to grant provincial status to Islamabad is excellent idea and aligns with public needs. He said that provincial assembly will provide the citizens of Islamabad the opportunity to elect their own representatives.
