A 35-year-old man allegedly made his way into the international departure area of Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport without a ticket or passport and stayed inside the airport lounge for some time before being caught, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the police, security personnel failed to notice that the man was inside the airport without a ticket. The suspect was caught when he started heading back towards the exit, prompting ASF personnel to become suspicious.
During checking, the man was found without a travel ticket or passport.
The ASF immediately took the suspect into custody and handed him over to the police. Police recovered an identity card from him and identified the suspect as 35-year-old Ahmed Ali Shahbaz.
According to police, a fraud case has been registered against Ahmed Ali at Sarwar Road Police Station. Police said the suspect has been arrested and is being questioned about different aspects of the incident.
An inquiry into ASF personnel and other officials deployed at the airport is also underway.
