Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has chaired a meeting to curb the smuggling of wheat, sugar and fertilizers, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The meeting also mulled over measures to ensure the price stability of essential commodities.
The chief minister directed keeping vigilance and ensuring checking of each and every carrier coming out of the mills across the province.
Checking at the exit points of the province must be enhanced, he insisted, adding that indiscriminate action should be taken against hoarders and profiteers.
A committee consisting of provincial ministers will hold negotiations with sugar mill owners so that the commodity price could remain stable.
Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners should perform their duties in an active manner to achieve the target of wheat procurement, he added.
The chief minister also greeted the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police and all Commissioners, RPOs, Deputy Commissioners for the success of the historic package of free flour supply.
