Reverse swing founder, Sarfraz Nawaz has accepted defeat in legal battle against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a recent development, former cricket ace Sarfraz Nawaz has taken back all cases filed against PCB under the allegation of treachery and match-fixing through his lawyer Naeem Bukhari and requested to restore his pension.
74-year old pacer Sarfaraz Nawaz has been living in London for a long time and is battling with various diseases has decided to end his seven-year long court war with PCB.
The PCB had withdrawn the pension offered to the former cricketer under Player Welfare Policy but Sethi conditioned the revival of the pension granted to him with an unconditional apology in the court.
Conceeding to PCB, he said that his lawyer Naeem Bukhari will submitted attested documents duly signed by him for settling the issue.
A few months ago, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had increased the amount of pension offered to ex-players by Rs100,000 per month for each category.
A player who represented Pakistan in less than 10 test matches gets a Rs142,000 per month pension, Rs148,000 for a player who played up to 20 tests, and Rs154,000 for the one who played more than 30 tests. Nawaz represented Pakistan in 55 tests and 45 one-day internationals (ODIs) from 1969 to 1984.
The former fast bowler unconditionally withdrew his case and vowed never to criticize in the future.
He gave a tough time to the policy makers of PCB. In this regard, he put his pension at stake and fought for seven years.
Finally, poor health and old age forced him to surrender. This will pay way for restoration of his pension.
