President Arif Alvi Thursday administered oath to members of newly appointed caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar’s cabinet, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The oath-taking ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran at the President's House.
It was attended by Kakar, Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Punjab interim Information Minister Amir Mir.
Dr Shamshad Akhtar has been named interim finance minister of the country while Murtaza Solangi will hold the portfolio of information minister. Jalil Abbas Jilani will take charge as foreign minister, Umar Saif as IT minister, Shahid Ashraf Tarar as communication minister and retired Lt Gen Ali Anwar Haider has been named defence minister.
Sarfraz Bugti has been sworn in as caretaker interior minister, Aniq Ahmad religious minister, Dr Nadeem Jan as health minister while Ahmed Irfan Aslam will join the cabinet as law minister.
Dr Gohar Ijaz has been assigned the portfolio of Ministry of Commerce and Trade while Jamal Shah will be the minister for Culture. Amdad Ali Sindhi, Khalil George and M Sami Saeed also took oath as federal ministers while they are yet to be assigned portfolios.
