The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration wing apprehended two individuals at Sialkot International Airport on Monday for attempting international travel using forged documentation, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to FIA officials, the passengers were identified as Muhammad Shahzad and Imtiaz Ahmed, both residents of Gujranwala. Shahzad was trying to fly to South Africa on a passport containing a forged South African visa, while Imtiaz Ahmed was attempting to travel to Greece.
They further revealed that Shahzad had previously entered Europe illegally, while immigration records showed multiple entries of his return to Pakistan; there was no record of his lawful departure abroad. It had raised suspicions about his prior travel history.
Both men were immediately taken into custody at Sialkot Airport and later handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Gujrat for further investigation.
