Kim Kardashian took fans on an emotional trip down memory lane as she shared a rare throwback photo with her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, and mom Kris Jenner.
The Kardashians star, 44, posted the never-before-seen snap on Instagram, showing herself as a young girl standing beside her parents. Smiling warmly at the camera, Kris, 69, embraced Robert, who died in 2003 at age 59 following a battle with oesophagal cancer.
“Dad, Mom and Me,” Kim captioned the post.
Robert and Kris were married from 1978 until their divorce in 1991. Together they welcomed four children: Kourtney, 46, Kim, Khloe, 41, and Rob, 38. Kris later married Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner, with whom she shares daughters Kendall, 29, and Kylie, 28.
Kim was just 22 when her father passed away. In recent years, she has followed in his footsteps by pursuing a legal career.
She completed her law program earlier this year, marking the culmination of a six-year journey, although she still needs to pass the Bar Exam before she can officially practice.
The SKIMS founder has often said she draws inspiration from her father while studying, once sharing: “Whenever I get frustrated, I think of him. He must’ve gone through the same struggles, and I know he would be so proud.”
The nostalgic post comes months after Kim attempted to purchase a family heirloom linked to her dad. Despite offering $15,000, Simpson’s estate rejected the bid as the item had already been locked into auction. It was later sold for more than $80,000.
Robert Kardashian, a devout Christian, rose to national attention during Simpson’s 1995 murder trial, where he stood by the former NFL star as part of his legal defence team. Though the men eventually fell out after Simpson’s acquittal, Robert’s role in the trial cemented his place in pop culture history.
