Lahore Electric Supply Corporation (LESCO) Chief Engineer Operations Nadeem Malik was suspended from service with immediate effect for showing negligence and inefficiency during duty hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
A notification issued in this regard stated that line losses were increased while shifting load from feeders during the tenure of CEO Nadeem Malik.
Sources said that the decision to shift the load of electricity supply was taken after some technical faults occurred.
The electricity load was shifted to another feeder to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers.
It is noteworthy that in the financial year 2024-25, LESCO seized 127 million units, valued at five billion and fifty million rupees. Additionally, in 2024-25, 220,863 running and dead defaulters were recovered, amounting to 14 billion and 451 million rupees.
