Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court’s (SC) order for shifting former prime minister and the party founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad and his meetings with his family and lawyers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said he and other party leaders were thankful to the Almighty Allah for today’s apex court order.
He said that people looked up to courts for the provision of justice. “We hope that soon there will be a compliance with the court order,” the chief minister said, and added that not a single PTI worker would gather around the hospital.
He said that people had pinned their hopes on Imran. “We own the assurance given by Salman Akram Raja in the court,” he said, and asked the party workers to refrain from committing any act which brought a bad name to judiciary as well as the PTI founder. “We all have to wait for Imran’s release.”
CM Afridi went on to say that some mischievous elements would want to malign the PTI. “We have to pinpoint such elements,” he emphasized.
He said that the leaderships of PTI and Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) would chalk out a strategy with respect to the long march to start on September 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Salman Akram Raja said that the court’s today’s order was best. “We are thankful to the Almighty Allah for that.”
He said that the order had given people a ray of hope. “I took responsibility before the learned judges that there will be no gathering in and outside the hospital,” he said, and added, “I ask each and every party worker not to assemble outside the hospital since we have given an assurance to the court.”
Raja said that only the former PM’s family would be privy to the contents of his medical report. “We will not demand that report. We will not do politics on it,” he assured.
