Indian actress Nidhhi Agerwal was caught in a chaotic and distressing situation at Hyderabad’s Lulu Mall after she was mobbed by fans during the song launch event of her upcoming film The Raja Saab.
The incident took place in the presence of her co-star and Telugu actor Prabhas and has since sparked concerns over crowd management and security lapses at public celebrity appearances.
According to a breaking news report by India Today, the situation spiralled out of control as hundreds of fans gathered at the mall to catch a glimpse of the film’s stars during the launch of the song The Raja Saab.
As Nidhhi Agerwal attempted to exit the venue, fans surged toward her, breaching her personal space and leaving her visibly uncomfortable. Videos of the incident, now viral on social media, show the actress surrounded by a dense crowd, struggling to move forward while people attempted to take photographs and get close to her.
The footage highlights the lack of adequate crowd control, with Nidhhi appearing trapped between fans on all sides as she made her way toward her car. While no physical injuries were reported, the scenes raised serious questions about the safety of actors at public events.
Police officials later confirmed that the chaos stemmed from a major procedural failure.
According to authorities, the event organisers had “did not take any permission” to hold the gathering, which meant no official security arrangements were put in place to manage the unexpectedly large crowd.
As a result, there was no police deployment or structured crowd-control mechanism at the venue.
Officials have indicated that action is likely to be taken against the mall management and event organisers for the oversight. The incident has once again underlined the importance of proper permissions and security planning for celebrity events, especially when large fan gatherings are expected.
