Pakistan’s national gross foreign exchange reserves reached $21.89 billion, marking the highest level since 2021, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported on Thursday.
The increase of $1.477 billion was largely driven by the inclusion of $1.2 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The SBP’s own reserves rose by $1.30 billion, climbing from $14.58 billion to $15.88 billion.
Commercial banks’ reserves also saw an increase of $177 million, reaching $52 million.
The growth in reserves reflects continued inflows from international financial institutions and improved stability in the country’s foreign exchange position.
