Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has paid a visit to Karachi, ISPR said on Saturday.
Sindh Cheif Minister Murad Ali Shah and COAS were briefed about the Karachi Police Office (KPO) incident at Corps Headquarters.
They visited the Karachi Police Office (KPO) which was cleared of terrorists in a coordinated operation yesternight.
The personnel of the Special Service Group (SSG), Rangers and Police jointly carried out the operation.
Three terrorists stormed the KPO office, claiming three lives. However, the security officials killed the terrorists and cleared the office.
The CM and COAS also visited Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre and enquire about the injured soldiers.
They heaped praise on the brave sons of the soil. The chief minister paid tribute to the lawmen, saying the brave sons of the soils made unmatchable sacrifices to protect the motherland and the nation will never forget them.
The army chief reiterated peace resolve, saying: Terrorists have no religious or ideological moorings, rather only misguided conception forced through coercion or inducement. Contrary to political and other distractions being faced by the public, the security forces remain singularly focused on CT and Intelligence based operations (IBOs) which are being conducted all over the country with pronounced success."
He added: “No nation can overcome such challenges with kinetic actions only.It needs mutual trust, the will of the people and synergy between all stakeholders. Pakistanis have always rejected and defeated terrorism and extremism in all its manifestations. Together we shall prevail upon this menace for a shared prosperous future."
Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Commander Karachi Corps.
