The Privatisation Commission Board on Wenesday formed a negotiations committee to appoint a financial advisor for the privatisation of Islamabad International Airport.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Privatization Commission Board chaired by Chairman Muhammad Ali. The meeting formed the negotiations committee to negotiate the terms of a potential financial advisory services agreement with the Asian Development Bank in connection with the airport’s privatisation.
According to the Board, the negotiations committee has been tasked with carrying out discussions in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework and will submit its recommendations to the Board for consideration and approval.
The proposed transaction envisages outsourcing airport operations under a concessionary model through an open and competitive process. The objective of the move is to enhance operational efficiency and improve the quality of service delivery, while ensuring maximum value for the Government of Pakistan.
The Privatisation Commission Board also reviewed and approved the audited financial statements of the Commission for the financial year 2024-25.
