JUI Punjab has claimed that Punjab government’s Rs25000 monthly allowance for Imam Masjid is a fraud as the administration was befooling Chief Minister by putting the names of those molvis who had refused to get this allowance.

JUI spokesperson Hafiz Ghazanfar Aziz in a press statement said the names of those who refused to receive the honorarium were also included throughout the province.

Spokesperson JUI Punjab said an attempt was made to complete the count by including the name of a mosque multiple times in the lists of Imams of mosques.

Hafiz Ghazanfar said that the names of Imams of government mosques were added without permission and they are now refusing to receive it.

JUI Spokesperson said the rulers were trying unsuccessfully to take control of the mosques in the name of honorarium. The narrative of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is speaking against the rulers. Hafiz Ghazanfar claimed that honorarium is nothing but a failed attempt to regain lost popularity.
