Sri Lankan batter Viran Chamoditha created history in the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup by setting a new record for the highest individual score in the tournament, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

On Saturday, Chamoditha produced a brilliant 192-run innings off 143 balls against Japan at the Namibia Cricket Ground, surpassing the previous record of 191 runs set by his compatriot Hisith Boiagoda against Kenya in 2018.

His remarkable innings included 26 boundaries and a six, showcasing an exceptional display of skill and dominance.

Chamoditha’s performance not only broke the record but also highlighted Sri Lanka’s strong showing in the tournament.
