The walima ceremony of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and grandson of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, and Shanzeh Ali Rohail was held at the Jati Umra Sharif Farms in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Junaid Safdar, dressed in grey sherwani and his wife Shanzeh, in white bridal dress, made an entry at the function with both holding each other’s hands.
As many as 800 guests were invited to the function.
The guests were served soup, chicken tempura, chicken, Amritsari mutton plao, fish from Bashir Daral Mahi and a sweet dish.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief General Asim Munir, Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, former Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz, senior politician Rohail Asghar, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, PML-N Lahore President Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar, Punjab Ministers Bilal Yasin, Mansha Butt, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Adviser to Punjab CM Zeeshan Malik, Special Assistant to the CM Rashid Nasrullah, Adviser to the PM Rana Sanaullah, Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Special Assistants to the CM Salma Butt and Sania Ashiq and others attended the ceremony.
Earlier, 24News TV channel reported that foolproof security arrangements had been made in and around Jati Umra on the occasion of Walima ceremony of Junaid Safdar.
On the other hand, guests have started to trickle in at the venue.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal and Punjab ministers, senators, political personalities, guests from foreign countries will also attend the function.
A special area has been allocated for the parking of vehicles. As many as 1,000 cars can be parked in the area.
