Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz hailed Bangladesh's “Woman First” agenda and appreciated their support and coordination in the district clusters and digital up-skilling programmes under the supervision of women, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Chief Minister expressed these views during a meeting with Bangladeshi High Commissioner in Pakistan Iqbal Hussain Khan, in Lahore on Friday.
During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz said that Pakistan and Bangladesh are branches of the same tree and both countries are attached to each other historically and through heritage.
Maryam Nawaz said that Pakistan lauded Bangladesh’s progress in garments, microfinance and women workforce. She said that vast opportunities of coordination are available in agriculture and foods security sectors.
Maryam Nawaz said that through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Pakistan exported 50 tons of fine quality rice to Bangladesh.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab can provide best quality surgical instruments and other laboratory equipment to Bangladesh.
Maryam Nawaz said that smooth clearance visa, relaxation in inspection and removal of security desk at Dhaka Airport sowed enhanced trust between the two brotherly countries.
She also appreciated establishment of Lahore and Dhaka Joint Chamber of Commerce. Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab government will provide every possible support to Bangladeshi businessmen through one window business centers.
She said that invitation for participation in “Women First” summit through Vision 2030 is an honor for Pakistan.
The Chief Minister said that Vision 20243 “Woman First” summit will not only our diplomatic talks but an event for joint respect and strong coordination for the better future.
Bangladeshi High Commissioner also lauded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz various welfare and development projects.
