National Disaster Management (NDMA) has predicted of fourth spell of monsoon rains during July 26-27. NDMA Technical expert Dr Tayyab told 24NewsHDTV Channel that 3 low pressure systems were heading towards Pakistan and currently there was a low pressure in India, Madhya Pradesh, it will affect the central parts of Pakistan.
Dr. Tayyab said that the weather patterns were already forming in South Punjab and North Sindh. He said another pressure system is entering Pakistan via the Arabian Sea and Gujarat and a third westerly wind system is moving towards Pakistan from the north.
He said rain is expected across the country in the coming days as a new spell will affect the central parts of the country from tonight.
He said light to moderate rain was expected in various areas of Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab on July 18 and 19.
Dr. Tayyab said in South Punjab, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur are expected to receive light to moderate rain during the perio. He said in Sindh, light to moderate rain is expected in Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Ghotki, Sanghar, Mirpur Mathelo, Dadu Qambar, Shahdad Kot.
In Balochistan, light to moderate rain is expected in Barkhan, Kohlu, Osta Muhammad, Dera Murad Jamali, Awaran and Lasbela on the eastern belt.
Dr. Tayyab said the intensity of weather patterns will increase from July 21. This time too, its intensity will be more in North-East Punjab and the Potohar region, Dr. Tayyab added.
He said rain is expected in Lahore, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Shakargarh, Narowal and several other districts of the province. Rains are expected in Chakwal, Sargodha, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the Potohar region. Rains is likely in AJK’s Muzaffarabad, Bagh Haveli, Poonch and Rawalakot. He said upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be affected, including Peshawar, Mardan and Swabi and this series will continue from 26 to 27.
He said so far, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have recorded more than normal rainfall and now the effect of monsoon rains will be seen in Sindh as well.
