Pakistan has described the situation in Gaza as a stain on collective conscience of the humanity and called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire there, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Delivering his statement during the resumed Tenth Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly on situation in Palestine, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said the stakes could not be higher, and urged the international community to not look away.
The Pakistani envoy reiterated demand for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, urging full implementation of the Resolution 2735.
He called for the complete lifting of Gaza blockade to allow unrestricted humanitarian aid.
Syria territorial integrity must be upheld
At the UN Security Council, Pakistan has said that Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be upheld without exception.
Speaking at the Security Council's on the political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said ongoing Israeli military actions violate international law. Such acts threaten regional peace and erode the authority of the Syrian state, he added.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar said Pakistan condemns these violations and reaffirms the importance of full compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Asim Iftikhar said it is critical that diplomatic focus and international support for Syria remain undiminished.
