First Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) special flight PK-9552 carrying 107 Pakistanis who were stranded in Iran but later shifted to Turkmenistan landed at New Islamabad International Airport (AIIA) early Wednesday from Ashgabat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, due to the closure of Iran’s airspace, these Pakistanis reached the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat via land route.
Pakistan’s embassies in Iran and Turkmenistan played a key role in bringing back these Pakistanis from Iran to Pakistan.
The Government of Pakistan also issued special directives to Pakistan International Airlines to implement measures for the safe return of Pakistanis from Iran.
The stranded Pakistanis appreciated the timely and swift action of the PIA.
A spokesman for the PIA stated that the airline’s history demonstrates its consistent support to the government during challenging times, considering the national interest.
