Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during which the two leaders discussed regional developments and the recently signed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, the Foreign Office said on Thursday.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, Bayramov congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Islamabad MoU and acknowledged Islamabad's role in facilitating the understanding between Washington and Tehran.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister appreciated Pakistan's efforts as a mediator in the process and described the development as a significant diplomatic achievement.
