The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that its government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will present the provincial budget for the financial year 2026–27 in the provincial assembly on Friday, 19 June.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Thursday that all members of the assembly would attend the budget session and support the Chief Minister in ensuring the approval of the annual financial plan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) KP Spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai said Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had initially wanted to present a three-month budget because a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan had not taken place.
However, he explained that legal obstacles prevented the provincial government from moving forward with a short-term budget proposal.
Yousafzai stated that the government had reviewed the situation and concluded that presenting a limited three-month budget would not be feasible under the prevailing legal framework.
As a result, the province is expected to proceed with a full-year budget instead, he said.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said there had been no procedural delay in the presentation of the provincial budget.
Speaking to media in the Parliament House yesterday, he remarked that discussions surrounding the budget were political in nature and added that the responsibility lay with the provincial government if the budget was not presented on time.
Governor Kundi said, “The sister of the PTI founder said that the KP government will not present the budget without holding a meeting with the PTI founder.”
He said that in his opinion, PTI founder’s sister does not know the constitution, and it is the government’s failure if PTI does not present the budget.

He further said that last year, PTI said that they would not present a budget. Taking a jab at former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Governor Kundi said that Gandapur did not convert Dera Ismail Khan into Switzerland.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that there were issues like terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, and other issues in Dera Ismail Khan.
He assured that if PTI talks about the development and progress of the province, then they will join hands with them.
He said that KP is facing a wheat shortage issue. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take notice of this situation and remove the hurdles.

Supreme Court fixes contempt of court petition filed by PTI’s founder's sister
In another development, the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) fixed the hearing of the contempt of court petition filed by Uzma Khan, the sister of PTI founder.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court will hear the contempt of court petition tomorrow.
