Pakistani playback and folk music icon Shazia Manzoor has finally addressed the long discussed controversy surrounding actress Alizeh Shah's fall during a fashion festival, firmly denying allegations that she intentionally pushed the actress on the ramp.
Appearing on ‘Ghup Shab with Vasay Chaudhry’, Shazia was shown a resurfaced clip from the viral incident in which Alizeh Shah stumbled and fell while walking alongside the singer during a fashion show.
Host Vasay Chaudhry jokingly asked, “Aap aisa kya karti hain ke khawateen gir jati hain?” (What is it that you do that women keep falling around you?)
Responding with laughter, Shazia explained that the mishap was purely accidental.
“Alizeh was wearing very high heels, it was a catwalk, and the floor was also slippery. She said a lot of things to me afterward, and I replied that pushing her would not have earned me the ‘Burj Khalifa’ as a gift. I even messaged her later, telling her that I had absolutely no intention of making her fall. We were supposed to turn left, but I moved right while she turned the other way, and that caused the confusion,” she said.
The incident dates back to a fashion event where Alizeh Shah lost her balance while holding Shazia Manzoor's hand on the runway. Following the fall, Alizeh publicly accused the veteran singer of deliberately pulling or pushing her, sparking widespread debate online. The actress had also shared cryptic social media posts at the time, expressing disappointment over the incident.
Shazia Manzoor remains one of Pakistan's most respected folk and playback singers, known for timeless hits and energetic performances, while Alizeh Shah has built a substantial fan base through dramas such as ‘Ehd-e-Wafa’, ‘Mera Dil Mera Dushman’, and ‘Bebasi’.
