Two former PPP prime ministers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Friday got relief from the accountability court as the court sent the reference against them back to the National Accountability Bureau, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Islamabad Accountability Court was hearing a NAB reference against former Ogra chairman Tauqeer Nasir. During the hearing, the court said that it did not have the jurisdiction to hold a trial against former prime ministers Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
It further pronounced that the court could not have the authority to hear a NAB’s reference against the ‘illegal’ appointment of ex-Ogra chief Tauqeer Sadiq.
Sikandar Makeen, Tauqeer Sadiq, Shaukat Durrani and Javed Nazir were also nominated in the case.
NAB had filed a reference against the accused for ‘illegally’ appointing Tauqeer Sadiq as chairman of Ogra.
