Pattoki Police solved mystery murder of a bank officer by arresting his relative who confessed to killing his step-uncle for property, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Police said that the accused killed his uncle to take hold of his land while trying to hide his murder by telling the police that the death was the result of a robbery. Police also recovered weapon which was used for the murder.
On January 20, the accused opened fire on Mohammad Azam who was a resident of Majrah when he was returning home from the bank.
Police registered a case on behalf of victim’s sister Nazia Tabbasum. DPO Kasur Mohammad Esa Khan also took notice of the incident and directed arrest of the accused on priority basis.
Police started operation to arrest the accused by adopting latest and scientific techniques.
Sources in police said that the father of the accused transferred the ownership of agriculture land to his step-brother Mohamad Azam.
The accused wanted to take back the ownership of the land and planned to kill Azam with the help of his friend.
Landlord killed in Pakpattan
Three armed men who were riding a car opened fire on a landlord and killed him over an old enmity in Pakpattan.
Police said that the incident occurred in village Fazalgarh. The landlord was on his way to his fields when he was sprayed with bullets.
The victim was later identified as Ajmal who was 45 years old and was involved in enmity with Kalya tribe.
Soon after receiving the report, a police team reached the spot and shifted the dead body to a hospital.
Police after registering a case of murder started investigation.
