Netflix has unveiled the teaser of its upcoming thriller series, ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’, featuring former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly.
The streaming giant confirmed that the legendary cricketer is making his acting debut in the series, set against the backdrop of crime and corruption in Kolkata during the 2000s.
Sharing the teaser, Netflix captioned it, "The Bengal Tiger meets the Bengal Chapter," introducing fans to Ganguly’s new on-screen avatar.
In the two-minute clip, he steps into the role of an honest yet aggressive police officer.
As he begins filming his debut scene, Ganguly is asked to tap into his aggressive side … a moment that takes him back to his infamous rivalry with former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell, who coached the Indian team from 2005 to 2007.
However, when challenged to summarize his high-octane action sequences, including taking down criminals, within just eight seconds, Ganguly humorously backed out of full-fledged acting, opting instead to take on promotional duties for the show.
‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ promises a gripping tale of crime, corruption, and law enforcement, and is set to premiere on Netflix on March 20.
