The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold a meeting on the evening of Thursday, March 19, 2026, for sighting the moon of Shawwal, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the committee will convene after Asr prayers at approximately 5:30 pm on the rooftop of the Kohsar Block in Islamabad.
The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad.
The announcement comes after Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court confirmed that the Shawwal moon was not sighted anywhere in the kingdom, meaning Ramadan will complete a full 30 days.
Simultaneously, zonal meetings of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will take place in the provincial capitals.
Any information regarding the sighting of the moon may be conveyed to the committee through the listed contact numbers for a final announcement by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
The final decision on moon sighting or otherwise will be announced later by the chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee based on information received.
